Evangelization InitiativeThe Church of the Holy Name is participating in the Archdiocesan “Evangelization Initiative.” The purpose of the Evangelization Initiative is to provide parishioners with an opportunity to share our faith lives with each other and in particular how our relationship with Jesus Christ shapes our call to Christian discipleship. This opportunity takes the form of small faith sharing groups which meet weekly during the season of Lent. The Evangelization Initiative is a four year process. Year one (2004) focused upon “reawakening” our relationship with Jesus. Years two (2005) and three (2006) focused upon “transformation” and “conversion” through our relationship with Christ. And Year four (2007) will focus upon “witnessing” that relationship through word and action. One can participate without previous participation in the Initiative. So far, the small groups have been a wonderful tool for people in the parish to get to know each other better and grow in faith both individually and communally.
