The Most Holy Trinity - Fr. Leo

“God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him.  Whoever believes in him will not be condemned.” (John)

In these words taken from John’s gospel today, it is clear that Jesus came for us that he may restore our relationship with God. This mission that Jesus fulfilled, was the Father’s desire.  The love that the Father has for us is expressed in all Jesus said and did for us.

God wants us to live fully in his love.  Our journey to this Promised land is born of faith.  When we open our hearts to God, the Father through the Son, the Spirit who proceeds from the Father and the Son enlivens us so that we share in the communal life of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  It can’t be said enough that God wants us to share in his divinity which means living intimately in God and letting God live intimately in us.

The culmination of this oneness is expressed in the words of St. Paul.  He recognized and stated it when he said, “It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me."

Amazing what God desires for us.  But I wonder what holds us back?  I think it is our unhealthy shame.  We are not good enough and never will be.  Only unhealthy shame can form that thought and hold it.  If unhealthy shame is a part of us, we need to let it go and realize that our life is not a problem to be solved, but a mystery to be lived.

So let us live creatively, chase our authentic dreams and live life as a gift given and not a possession owned.
