Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ - Fr. Leo

We gather here today, as on every Sunday, to celebrate and deepen the presence of God in our souls.  Because God is always within us, soul work is learning to live in the Holy Spirit who stirs our hearts. The Eucharist is our sacramental way of saying God is really here and through this ritual we confirm our belief in God’s presence and open our hearts to God’s wisdom and love.

Sharing from the one loaf and one cup, unites us to all things God.  We celebrate oneness with God, others, and all creation.  This is why we can go fourth from here and live in God by artful living.  We can take a walk and marvel at God’s beauty.  We can do our daily task with a reverence that honors the soul in the reflective doing of the simplest things.  We can find wordless meaning in every social interaction.

Eucharist for us is a way of living.  The “real presence” we celebrate. Is always in, with and around us.  One little practical thing to do is try to be present to everything you do.  Enjoy the ‘now’ of the moment.

After reading a passage from Thomas Moore’s Care of the Soul, I went to fold laundry.  Instead of rushing through it to get it done, my usual, I look time to fold each item with care.  It looked so much better when I was done and I felt better about everything in general.  This is how we can transform every moment and everything we do into an experience of soul. It is then that we live in God and experience his divinity living in us - in mind, body and soul.

May God help us live Eucharistic lives where we and all things are transformed.
