FAITH FORMATION AND SACRAMENTS

Holy Name provides opportunities for all to deepen our knowledge and strengthen the foundation of our faith. We encourage all ages to participate in on-going formation.  Faith Formation or Catechesis is the process of fulfilling Christ's mission to us to "go and make disciples."  Catechesis comes from a Greek word meaning "to echo the teaching" and is a mission for all of us.

The name of catechesis was given to the whole of the efforts within the Church to make disciples, to help people to believe that Jesus is the Son of God...and to educate and instruct them in this life and thus build up the Body of Christ.” (Catechesi Tradendae #1)

At Holy Name, Faith Formation includes Preschool-8th Grade formation, sacramental preparation including Confirmation, two annual GIFT programs, Lenten Faith Sharing Groups, scripture study and other offerings.
