Fr. Bob Hart joins the Holy Name and St. Leonard of Port Maurice Communities as of July 2025. Fr. Bob will be our parochial administrator during the time of the departure of Fr. Leo and the transitions in parish staff. Fr. Bob is a "retired" priest of the Archdiocese who assists at parishes as needed as part of his continuing ministry.
Born and raised in Chicago area. Attended Catholic schools K-8, Fenwick High School in Oak Park, College of St. Thomas, 1966-70. Degree in Quantitative Methods (computer science) and Accounting. Worked at American National Bank in Chicago for 15 months following graduation. Moved to MN and worked at Prudential Insurance Company from August, 1971 through April, 1993, first as computer programmer and then in facilities management. Started seminary in St. Paul in August, 1994, ordained in 2000. First assignment as Assoc. Pastor at the Cathedral of St. Paul. Made Pastor of Transfiguration in Oakdale in July, 2002. Made pastor of St. Patrick’s, Inver Grove Heights in July 2010. Retired from there July 1, 2018. Have always had a passion for helping the less fortunate. Have served on Board of directors of Hill Murray High School, Maplewood, MN (6 years); board of directors of National Federation of Priests Councils (NFPC) (5 years); College of Consultors for NFPC (10 years). Currently involved with, Covenant House (shelter for runaway kids, with over 30 locations in Canada, US, Mexico and Central America); Wakota Life Care Center; Life Care Center East; Fenwick High School.
